The Lebanon Trail football program, now in its third varsity season, got one of the most significant wins in its history Friday with a 34-31 victory over Corsicana.

The win at Toyota Stadium improved Lebanon Trail to 2-0 on the season and gave the Blazers more momentum as they enter District 7-5A Division II play this week against Memorial.

Lebanon Trail knocked off Corsicana, a team that last year made the playoffs, by coming from behind in the fourth quarter. Lebanon Trail got the winning touchdown when an LT sack led to a fumble that Roman Knautz returned 44 yards to give LT a 34-31 lead with 4:28 remaining.

The Lebanon Trail defense preserved the lead by forcing Corsicana to punt on its next drive. The Lebanon Trail offense then clinched the victory by getting two first downs to run out the clock.

Quarterback Drew Martin completed 13 of 22 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns for the Blazers. He also ran for a score. Greg Hatley rushed 12 times for 76 yards and a touchdown and Drew Donley caught 4 passes for 80 yards and a TD. Parker Mawhee also had one of the biggest plays of the game in the first half when he took a screen pass 51 yards for a touchdown.
